Our Story

Built on empathy. Driven by excellence.

Founded in 2015 by Ani, GÜNZ Pet Relocation began with a simple mission: to take the stress and confusion out of international pet travel. Having seen firsthand how overwhelming it can be to move a furry family member across borders, Ani built a service based on empathy, transparency, and uncompromising care.

Today, what started as a passionate one-person mission has grown into a trusted relocation service based in Budapest, Hungary. Ani personally oversees EU TRACES requirements, airline rules and restrictions, and international import and quarantine requirements, ensuring your pet is treated like family every step of the way.

Expert Advice

Answers to the most common questions nervous pet parents ask us.

Do you sedate pets for flights?

Absolutely not. In accordance with IATA (International Air Transport Association) regulations and veterinary best practices, sedation is strictly prohibited during air travel. Sedatives alter a pet’s natural ability to balance and regulate body temperature, which is dangerous in the air. Instead, we use crate acclimatization and comfort techniques to keep them calm.

Can my snub-nosed (brachycephalic) dog or cat fly?

Yes, but they require specialized routing. Breeds like French Bulldogs, Pugs, and Persian cats are subject to strict airline restrictions due to respiratory risks. We specifically partner with airlines that have specialized brachycephalic programs, or we design a hybrid route combining flights with our VIP ground transport to ensure they travel 100% safely. For instance, while flying these breeds directly into London, UK can be highly restricted and challenging, routing them through pet-friendly hubs like New York, USA often provides a much smoother and safer journey.

How do I know what size travel crate I need?

Your pet must have enough room to stand naturally without touching the top, turn around completely, and lie down comfortably. Soft-sided carriers are only permitted in the cabin, while rigid, airline-approved (IATA CR-82) plastic crates with metal hardware are required for the cargo hold. During your consultation, we will guide you on exact measurements and can even source the perfect crate for you.
